Sarah's background:
Studied Town & Country Planning at South Bank Polytechnic, now the University of the South Bank. Achieved a Bachelor of Town Planning in 1990 followed by postgraduate diploma in Town Planning the following year and became a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2005.
Sarah has 5 years retail experience progressing to store manager for a large national chain, before becoming an officer and regional store auditor.
Following a career break Sarah returned to planning in 2003 gaining 5 years experience with Waverley Borough Council rising from Planning Officer to Principal Planner.
Experienced in a wide range of planning applications, both in terms of their preparation and determination, from minor household applications through to major redevelopment sites. Other duties included preparation and attendance at appeal on behalf of the Council; preparation and presentation of committee reports; the consideration and determination of Certificate of Lawful Use applications for both existing and proposed development; investigation and preparation of reports relating to alleged planning breaches.
She is currently studying part time for an MA in Urban Design at Oxford Brookes University with the full support of the Partnership.
