D&M achieve planning permission for the change of use of drinking establishment and restaurant to educational facility in Guildford

D&M Planning have successfully obtained planning permission for the change of use of the basement area of the former Yates's public house and restaurant (Use Class A3 and A4) Bridge Street, Guildford to an educational facility (Use Class D1) for the Academy of Contemporary Music.

Whilst the site lies within a floodplain and flood risk zones 2 & 3, D&M successfully demonstrated that the flooding issues would not have an adverse impact upon the viability of the proposal. It was also demonstrated that the proposed use would not detract from the character and appearance of the application premises and surrounding Conservation Area and that the amenities of the occupiers of adjoining premises would not be prejudiced.
