D&M wins appeal for an extension and alterations to a Grade II Listed Nursing Home in Reigate March 2009
The D&M Planning Partnership has been successful in winning a Planning and Listed Building Consent Appeal for a part 3 / part 4 storey extension and other alterations to a Grade II Listed Nursing Home in Reigate. The proposal also included the provision of an Orangery within the Grounds of the Listed Building. The Inspector agreed with D&M Planning that whilst the alterations would result in a significant enlargement of the Care Home, the original form of the building would be maintained and therefore the extension would be in keeping with the character and appearance of the building. The Inspector also agreed that the Orangery would be in keeping with the character and appearance of the main house and that the overall development would not have a harmful impact upon neighbouring properties or upon the amenities of the Residential Area of Special Character.
The success of this appeal was featured in Planning Magazine (01 May 2009). < Back
